report in a Philadelphia area paper says the Pirates are one of a few teams showing interest in starting pitcher
Jon Lieber, who could come at somewhat of a cheap price since the Phillies acquired Freddy Garcia earlier today.
Lieber made his major league debut with the Buccos in 1994 and went on to win 38 games over parts of 5 seasons in Pittsburgh. His best season with the Pirates was 1996, when he won nine games and held an ERA of 3.99.
